Clinical Manifestation of Stressful Cardiomyopathy (Takotsubo Syndrome) and the Problem of Differential Diagnosis with Acute Myocardial Infarction

Abstract: The presented data show that tacotsubo syndrome (TS) is characterized by the absence of coronary artery obstruction, cardiac contractile dysfunction, apical ballooning, and heart failure, and in some patients, ST-segment elevation and prolongation of the QTc interval. Every tenth patient with TS develops ventricular arrhythmias. Most of TS patients have elevated markers of necrosis (troponin I, troponin Т, and creatine kinase МВ (CK-МВ), which are considerably lower than in patients with acute myocardial infar… Show more

“…Acute chest pain, dyspnea, electrocardiographic changes like ST-segment elevation, T-wave inversion, slightly elevated cardiac enzyme levels, and transient ventricular wall motion abnormalities are typical symptoms of acute coronary syndrome. 1 Early imaging is frequently used to distinguish between TTS and acute coronary syndrome, 2 although accuracy needs to be improved.…”

“…Синдром такоцубо (СТЦ) считается сравнительно редким заболеванием, характеризующийся в первом приближении клиническими проявлениями острого коронарного синдрома [1]. Эхокардиография (ЭхоКГ) -наиболее часто используемый метод выявления СТЦ [2].…”
