Clinical insights: Equine dentistry

Abstract: Equine dental research has made considerable progress over the past 20 years, providing a clearer understanding of the epidemiology of diseases affecting equine oral health. There have been great advances in dental surgery and medicine that have been complemented by simultaneous developments in the field of diagnostic imaging, and in particular computed tomography. The capacity to accurately diagnose, successfully treat and in some cases prevent disease of the equine oral cavity is increasing all the time.
