“…5,6,11,12 Furthermore, patients with WR-DLBCL tended to present with involvement of contiguous lymph node sites. Similar to other series of patients with Waldeyer ring lymphoma or Waldeyer ring NK/T-cell lymphoma, 6,[8][9][10]22 the majority of patients with WR-DLBCL had stage II disease. The high frequency of cervical lymph node involvement in patients with WR-DLBCL is consistent with the observation from patients with squamous cell carcinoma arising from Waldeyer ring sites.…”

“…[8][9][10]21 In contrast, in patients with Waldeyer ring NK/T-cell lymphoma, the nasopharynx was the most frequently involved site. 22 It is noteworthy that involvement of the gastrointestinal tract is relatively common in patients with WR-DLBCL, and complete staging of the gastrointestinal tract is recommended for these patients. 8,15 Chemotherapy followed by involved-field radiotherapy is considered the standard treatment for patients with early stage DLBCL, aggressive lymphoma, and Waldeyer ring lymphoma.…”

“…31,32 Our data show excellent outcomes in early stage I nasal NK/T-cell lymphoma treated with either radiotherapy alone or a combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy; however, patients with stage II disease carry a Cancer relatively unfavorable prognosis. Although improved survival with combined modality therapy was observed in our previous study of early stage NK/T-cell lymphoma of Waldeyer's ring, 26 no study so far has shown significant benefit of adding chemotherapy to radiotherapy in early stage nasal NK/T-cell lymphoma or early stage NK/T-cell lymphoma of the upper aerodigestive tract. 3,14,15,[20][21][22]33,34 Although the regimens and number of chemotherapy cycles administered varied somewhat, most (85%) of our patients received 4 cycles of standard CHOP or CHOPlike regimens.…”

“…3,26 A dose of 50 to 56 grays (Gy) was given to the primary tumor, and 15 patients received a boost of 5 to 10 Gy to residual disease. Patients were treated with 1.8 to 2.0 Gy daily, 5Â a week.…”
