Clinical evaluation of non-motor symptoms in jaw closing dystonia

Abstract: Background The features of non-motor symptoms such as cognitive ability, psychiatric state, and quality of life (QOL) is unknown in patients with jaw closing dystonia. Methods Seven patients with jaw closing dystonia (2 males, 5 females; mean age 60.4 years) and 7 healthy age-and gender-matched subjects (mean age 54.1 years) participated in this study. The patients were examined to determine the location of pain and movement difficulties, with awareness of those measured using a numerical rating scale (0-10).
