Clinical Characteristics of Rotavirus-Induced Gastroenteritis in Infants

Abstract: Rotavirus is the most common cause of acute infectious diarrhea in infants and young children up to the age of five. The disease is characterized by profuse watery diarrhea, vomiting and fever. The major complications of rotavirus gastroenteritis (RVGE) are dehydration, middle ear inflammation and upper respiratory tract infection.
