Abstract:In rheumatic diseases, the risk of infections development is higher than in the general population. The article describes a case of SARS-CoV-2 infection in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and secondary AA-amyloidosis of the lungs, which led to a fatal outcome. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, RA patients with secondary AA-amyloidosis and pulmonary fibrosis are likely to represent a special risk group for developing a severe course of this infection with a fatal outcome.
