Clinical and Echocardiographic Outcome of Percutaneous Closure of Ventricular Septal Defects
Iyad AL Ammouri
Abstract:Background: Ventricular septal defects (VSD) are the most common congenital cardiac anomalies. Hemodynamically significant defects require closure. Surgery is the gold standard for most defects. Recently, transcatheter closure has provided an acceptable option in selected cases. We aim to evaluate the outcomes of percutaneous closure of VSD and assess the effect of device closure on echocardiographic left-sided chamber parameters.
