Cleft closure (the Bascom cleft lift) for 714 patients—treatment of choice for complex and recurrent pilonidal disease (a cohort study)

Abstract: AimPilonidal disease is a benign condition that affects mainly the young. In existing literature, there is no consensus for best treatment, with multiple operative techniques described, some complex, resulting in a high proportion of failure and/or morbidity.
