Clear Cell Hidradenocarcinoma of the Breast: A Very Rare Breast Skin Tumor

Abstract: Hidradenocarcinoma is an uncommon malignant intradermal tumor of sweat gland origin with a predilection for the face and extremities. It is encountered equally in males and females, usually in the second half of life. These tumors tend to be locally aggressive. “…The most common location of hidradenoma or hidradenocarcinoma in the breast has been reported to be the nipple and subareolar region[17-21]. There have been reports of circumscribed high-density masses on mammograms and cystic masses with significant solid components or mural nodule on sonogram[7,22,23].…”

“…Malignant variants tend to have an aggressive course with local recurrence around 50% and metastases in 60% of cases. Metastases tend to affect the regional lymph nodes, but can also involve the lung, bone, brain, liver, viscera, and skin [5,8-9]. Distant metastases are indicative of poor prognosis [8-9].…”
