The article discusses the agro-production features of the river valley-escarpment soils of the Republic of Armenia, the negative changes occurring in the soils due to the impact of climate change and the anthropogenic factor, as well as a number of issues related to the ways of increasing soil fertility. According to the Research results, river valley-escarpment soils are in general, characterized by high natural fertility and are widely used in agricultural production as high-quality arable land. Meantime, significant changes in the agro-productive features of soils are observed as well. In order to efficiently use the land, increase and maintain the fertility, it is recommended that scientifically based complex agrotechnical measures in compliance with local conditions are applied.

The humus of Republic of Armenia forest brown soils has been studied. It turned out that these soils are characterized by high content of humus; up to 11,2%, which gradually decreases parallel with the soil profile depth. The humus content in plant litter reaches up to the 21,8%. One of the most important features in the forest brown soils is a high hydrolysis character of humus. The total balance of carbon of humus substances is 17.0-43.6%, which shows the weak linkage of humus with the mineral part of the soil. In general the presence of black HA in the content of humin acids is not typical for forest brown soils. It is well known that in forest grey soil prevail FA and grey FA and the absence of HA, which are combined with exchanging Ca, moving R 2 O 3-as well as with the acid reaction of the soil, which consider being main connectors of humic substances.

The geographical principles are used in grouping of the soils the highest taxonomic standards in the soviet soil scientists works concerning the classification. But the Azerbaijan soil classification is based on genetic profile. Traditionally -topographic, color, climate and so on names are used in this classification, which in the soils genetic types idea is assumed as a basis. The International classification system is identified on the basis of the diagnostic parameters in the field researches and specified as a result of the laboratory analyses. The Azerbaijan soil classification consists of eight taxonomic level and a high taxonomic level is considered-soil class, section, genetic soil type, low soil taxa -soil gender, sort, diversity, row, soil variants. Mainly used central taxon is soil type. An aim of the research is to determine correlative chances of WRB-2015 International soil classification system with the Azerbaijan soil classification. It was detected that a correlation of both soil classifications is possible. The correlation is taken place in different taxon levels. Therefore, the soils were analysed at a type and subtype standard besides high taxas when the soils were correlated. As a result of correlation, it was defined that irrigated meadow-grey soils should be correlated Anthrosols, but meadow-grey soils concerned Calcisols and Gleysols.
