Classification of Sinter Materials

Abstract

Sintering tests were performed on 63 varieties of iroll ores. T hree major sintering properties were then chosen .from the lest results, namely shaller strength, productivity and coke consumption. A methodfor expressing them objectively was worked out in order to evaluate the sinter malerials in general, utilizing the test results. The ores were then classified according to the .fourfaclors q{ p article size, FcO percenlages, S iO z percentages alld gangue minerals, since sintering /I1"operties are definitely related to such pro/)erties of ore<. A s a result, it has been learned that, except processed ores, natural ores belonging to a certain groul) have showed neari.J1 identical sintering properties.
