O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo estudar as cônicas sob o ponto de vista da “geometria exponencial". Esta geometria é construída no espaço vetorial dos pares ordenados de coordenadas positivas, ou seja, em R+ × R+. Para realizar este estudo definimos uma métrica adequada e observamos sua influência no aspecto geométrico das cônicas. Oestudo das cônicas utilizando métricas específicas tem obtido destaque recentemente, como é caso das cônicas na geometria do táxi e as cônicas no plano de Minkowski. O trabalho é complementado ao utilizarmos as operações de espaço vetorial para realizar um estudo sobre suas retas. Tais retas possuem, em geral, aspectos geométricos diferentes das retas do plano euclidiano, se assemelhando a essas somente em alguns casos particulares. De posse da métricaadotada também obtivemos uma fórmula para o cálculo da distância de um ponto a uma reta. A fórmula obtida tem certa semelhança com a fórmula da distância de ponto à reta na geometria euclidiana plana , mas envolve a utilização da função logarítmo. Por fim, a métrica é utilizada para a dedução da equação das cônicas. Com o auxílio do software de Geometria dinâmica Geogebra apresentamos visualizações geométricas das cônicas através de algumas situações particulares.

The linear structure of the Lorentz-Minkowski plane is almost the same as Euclidean plane. But, there is one different aspect. These planes have different distance functions. So, it can be interesting to study the Lorentz analogues of topics that include the distance concept in the Euclidean plane. Thus, in this study, we show that the relationship between Euclidean and Lorentz distances is given depending on the slope of the line segment. Following, we investigate Lorentz analogues of Thales’ theorem, Angle Bisector theorems, Menelaus’ theorem and Ceva’s theorem.
