Classification molecular subtypes of hepatocellular carcinoma based on PRMT-related genes

Abstract: Background: Recent studies highlighted the functional role of protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) catalyzing the methylation of protein arginine in malignant progression of various tumors. Stratification the subtypes of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is fundamental for exploring effective treatment strategies. Here, we aim to conduct a comprehensive analysis of PRMTs with bioinformatic tools to identify novel biomarkers for HCC subtypes classification and prognosis prediction, which may be potential id… Show more

“…Regarding the pathway of RMTs methylate histone arginine, protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) methylate arginine residues within proteins, thereby regulating several biological processes, such as epigenetic regulation, DNA damage response, and immune surveillance [16]. In this study, PRMT1, PRMT2, PRMT5, and PRMT8 were significantly highly expressed in After Tumor (Figure 3e).…”

“…In the past, researchers have built diagnostic models using logistic regression or machine learning, such as random forest [ 30 ]. However, this is often a single data set or only a bioinformatics method is used.…”

“…Bioinformatic analysis of the association of PRMT with bladder and liver cancer has been performed [ 19 , 20 ]. Liu et al conducted an analysis on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) samples, classifying them into three distinct subtypes using PAM regulators.…”
