<italic>Arlesminthurus</italic> Bretfeld is a small genus of Neotropical Bourletiellidae, with only four described species so far. <italic>Calvatomina</italic> Yosii is a widespread taxon of Dicyrtomidae, with most species known from the tropics. Here, we describe two new species from northeastern Brazil: <italic>Arlesminthurus caatinguensis</italic> sp. nov. and <italic>Calvatomina gladiata</italic> sp. nov. We also provide a detailed chaetotaxic study for <italic>Arlesminthurus</italic> for the first time, with updated diagnoses and identification keys for the Neotropical species of both genera and notes on their morphology. <italic>Arlesminthurus caatinguensis</italic> sp. nov. resembles <italic>A. aueti</italic> Arlé in body color pattern, male head and dental chaetotaxy. The discovery of one bothriotrichum-like sens on the large abdomen of the new species needs to be investigated as a possible generic diagnostic feature, but we suggest that this structure is homologous to the S-sens seen in at least four Bourletiellinae genera, and they are likely related to each other. <italic>Calvatomina gladiata</italic> sp. nov. belongs to the <italic>rufescens</italic>-group and resembles <italic>C. rufescens</italic> Reuter and <italic>C. guyanensis</italic> Nayrolles and Betsch in some aspects of the head, dental and abdominal chaetotaxy. These descriptions represent the first record of <italic>Arlesminthurus</italic> from Caatinga and the first nominal species of <italic>Calvatomina</italic> from Brazil.

Ciplukan merupakan tanaman dari daerah subtropis yang mulai dibudidayakan di Indonesia karena memiliki banyak manfaat di bidang kesehatan. Kendala dalam budidaya ciplukan yaitu adanya gangguan serangga hama. Predator dan parasitoid merupakan komponen biotik penting dalam pengendalian serangga hama ciplukan secara alami di lapangan, oleh karena itu informasi keberadaan dan keragaman predator dan parasitoid pada pertanaman ciplukan perlu diketahui. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memelajari keragaman arthropoda predator dan parasitoid serangga hama pada lahan ciplukan (Physalis peruviana L.) di Desa Kadakajaya, Kecamatan Tanjungsari, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan yellow sticky trap dan pitfall trap sebanyak enam kali dalam kurun waktu dua bulan. Saat pengambilan sampel, tanaman ciplukan berada pada fase generatif, yaitu sudah berbuah dan sudah beberapa kali dipanen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada lahan berukuran 30 x 10 meter pada ketinggian 1013 meter di atas permukaan laut. Arthropoda yang tertangkap selama sampling terdiri dari 13 ordo dan 70 famili yang dapat berperan sebagai predator, parasitoid, dan netral, dengan jumlah individu sebanyak 7131. Berdasarkan data tersebut, diperoleh Indeks Keragaman yang termasuk kategori sedang, Indeks Kemerataan tinggi (>0,6) dan tidak ada arthropoda yang mendominasi dengan hasil Indeks Dominansi <1, yang berarti tidak ada populasi arthropoda dalam satu famili yang mendominasi di lokasi survey. Hasil perhitungan indeks keragaman, kemerataan, dan dominansi ini menunjukkan kondisi lingkungan yang stabil. Beberapa predator dan parasitoid yang banyak ditemukan berasal dari ordo Diptera, Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, dan Hemiptera. Selain arhtropoda yang berperan sebagai predator dan parasitoid, ditemukan pula arthropoda yang berperan sebagai polinator, dekomposer, dan makanan alternatif bagi predator, yaitu dari ordo Entomobryomorpha, Poduromorpha, Coleoptera, Diptera, dan Isopoda.

Richardsitas Betsch is a small genus of Sminthurinae with only two species described so far, both from Madagascar. It resembles other Sminthurinae with long antennae, especially Temeritas Richards. Here we provide the first record of Richardsitas from Australia, Richardsitas subferoleum sp. nov., which is similar to R. najtae Betsch and R. griveaudi Betsch in males’ large abdomen chaetotaxy and presence of tenent-hairs on tibiotarsi II–III, but lacks mucronal chaeta and has 28 segments on the fourth antennal segment plus a unique pair of sensilla on the second. We also provide an updated genus diagnosis to Richardsitas, a key to its species, a discussion of the affinities of Temeritas and Richardsitas to other Sminthurinae, and an updated key to this subfamily.
