Purpose The substantial benefits of e-procurement to organizations and institutions have, over the past two decades, become central to supply chain management. This study aims to identify the factors that facilitate the adoption of e-procurement system using modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). Design/methodology/approach Using a quantitative approach, the factors identified in the UTAUT2 are operationalized and examined carefully. The investigation has been conducted using a survey questionnaire. The data set has been obtained from 205 construction professionals in Ghana. Findings The research evinced that the decision by individuals to adopt e-procurement is mainly influenced by performance expectancy and social influence. By implication, the study found out that the respondents are more likely to adopt e-procurement if it is seen to be user-friendly and useful, and when they have a community of people supporting its use. Overall, the findings suggest that the model can stimulate a high adoption and intention to use e-procurement technologies, given its good predictive potential and robustness. Practical implications The structures uncovered in the study show that not all UTAUT2 factors are applicable within the study area. The findings provide a good backdrop in the development of policy and a roadmap for e-procurement implementation in Ghana. This is particularly useful for system development and implementation purposes for government agencies, contracting organizations, professionals and users of e-procurement technologies. Originality/value The original contribution and value of the paper is the use of UTAUT2 to provide evidence on their significance to e-procurement adoption among construction professionals.

Electronic -payment is increasingly becoming a daring means of payments in today’s business world. This is due to its efficiency convenience and timeliness. The aim of this study is to empirically analyze the relationship between electronic payment and quoted financial performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. Data on different types of electronic payment and return on equity from 2007-2018 were collected from the central bank of Nigeria Statistical bulletin, annual Central Bank of Nigeria reports, Federal Inland Revenue Service, financial annual reports and e-business units report of the quoted deposit money banks. The ordinary lest square, Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag, Unit Root Test, Panel Cointegration, Granger Causality Test and Panel Dynamic, Error Correction Model was used in analyzing the data with the aid of E-view version 10. The empirical results indicate that electronic payment significantly relate to return on equity; explaining about 85.3% of the total variation in return on equity, web pay and mobile pay were each found to significantly relate to quoted financial performance, sustaining long run equilibrium relationship with return on equity. We therefore conclude that e-payment has the potency to make significant contribution to quoted banks financial performance and recommends that Central Bank of Nigeria should provide adequate regulatory framework that will ensure customer protection and security of their transactions from cyber-crimes and hackers. The use of established information system models in technology related researches so that the needed factors to be examined would be properly investigated and addressed.

This paper looks at the adoption of e-government technologies from a citizen-centric, value-based point-of-view. We analyse e-government technology adoption and value creation on a large, representative Hungarian sample, using the data of the Good State Public Administration Opinion Survey. The paper examines the near total spectrum of the Hungarian government-to-citizen administration service areas: 11 e-government services, with a special focus on personal income tax administration and the use of government issued documents. The technology acceptance model and an e-government-specific adaptation of the DeLone – McLean information system (IS) success model are used as the theoretic base. Factor analysis, traditional association metrics and statistical tests are used for the analysis. Results confirm the relevance of the technology adoption factors suggested by the mainstream IS literature, while citizen-level value creation – in the form of cost or time saved, satisfaction level raised – was less demonstrable. Increasing citizens' internet trust or improving facilitating infrastructural conditions, as well as a significant value proposition in terms of time savings and ease of use would help increasing e-government service adoption levels and value creation potential.
