Circuit Models for 2-Dimensional Em Absorption by Biological Bodies

Abstract: Abstract-In this paper, new circuit models are used to calculate the induced fields in biological media exposed to an incident plane wave in the two-dimensional cases. These models represent the induced fields in the medium using the lossy long transmission line model [1]. The voltages and currents in the circuit model simulate the electric and magnetic fields in the medium. The response of the medium to the incident wave is represented by equivalent conduction and polarization current sources in the medium. T… Show more

“…Abd‐Alhamed et al also investigated and compared two methodologies of MOM and MOM/FDTD, and his remarks regarding hybrid computation method applicable for complex geometries especially under Lossy dielectric models. Elkaramany and El Hadeed introduced a circuit model method for SAR computation in 2 dimensions. The downsides of these methods have several approximations considered as staircase approximation and approximations due to boundary conditions for matrix size reductions.…”

“…The head models used in this study was obtained from MRI-based head model through the whole brain Atlas website. Six types of tissues, i.e., bone, brain, muscle, eye ball, fat, and skin were involved in this model [22][23][24][25][26]. Table 2 shows their dielectric properties [23,24].…”

“…A helix antenna was modeled for this paper by thin-wire approximation. Simulations of ferrite sheet are performed by FDTD method with Lossy-Drude Model [23][24][25][26]. The method is utilized to understand the wave propagation characteristics of ferrite sheet.…”
