CircRNA_0058063 functions as a ceRNA in bladder cancer progression via targeting miR-486-3p/FOXP4 axis

Abstract: Emerging evidence has uncovered critical regulatory roles of circular RNAs (circRNAs) function as dynamic scaffolding molecules in tumorigenesis and progression. However, the aberrant expression and clinical significance of hsa_circ_0058063 (circRNA_0058063) in bladder cancer (BC) remain poorly understood. circRNA expression was analyzed via a microarray in cancerous tissue and non-carcinoma tissues. Luciferase reporter assays and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) were both conducted to uncover the function of cir… Show more

“…40,41 Some studies have reported that miR-486-3p promotes cell invasion and tumor progression through the activation of cancerassociated signaling pathways in NPC and other various types of cancer. 42,43 Additionally, miR-486-3p is a member of the regulatory network associated with the pathophysiology of NPC. 44 Although the role of miR-486-5p in NPC has not been reported previously, it may serve as a biomarker for the recurrence of oral squamous cell carcinoma after operation.…”

“…Circ_0058063 is only been studied in esophageal squamous-cell carcinomas and bladder cancer [10,15,16]. In the progression of bladder cancer, circRNA_0058063 serves as a ceRNA via sponging miR-486-3p/FOXP4 and miR-145-5p/CDK6 axis [10,16].Circ_0058063 stimulates glucose-uptake and increases the expression of GLUT1 in esophageal squamous-cell carcinomas [15].…”
