“…En muchos casos se suele apelar a que el género no es una categoría "científica", sino "política" o "ideológica"; pero no se justifica a partir de qué supuestos se extrae esta conclusión. Así, por ejemplo, encontramos aseveraciones que producen cuanto menos perplejidad, como que el "género es la ideología imperante" o "la perspectiva de género es sencillamente obviar uno de los géneros" (Pereda y Tamarit, 2019). Suele ocurrir, además, que no se cita la fuente en la que se fundamentan este tipo de aseveraciones, por otro lado, tan coincidentes con lo que se escucha en algunos debates sociopolíticos y en absoluto con lo que la producción científica sobre género ha teorizado.…”

“…Desconocemos cuáles son las deficiencias metodológicas que algunos autores atribuyen a los estudios sociológicos sobre la violencia contra las mujeres en la pareja (Pereda y Tamarit, 2019), pero podemos examinar el tipo de evidencia que aportan las escalas que reportan datos tan contradictorios con los análisis sociológicos. Las Conflict Tactics Scales (Strauss, 2007) y similares ciertamente son las más utilizadas para aportar evidencia empírica en las investigaciones, como se ha señalado en algunas réplicas (Echeburúa, 2019;Pereda y Tamarit, 2019). Resulta pertinente, por tanto, examinar qué es lo que evidencian empíricamente estas escalas y confrontar su calidad psicométrica con los estándares de medición.…”
