“…The use of cheek transposition flaps to correct lower eyelid ectropion have been reported in a single case of a 24-year old with LI and progressive ectropion along with postauricular grafts for upper eyelid ectropion 29. This is a useful method to introduce skin and lengthen the anterior lamella of the lower eyelid; however, applicability is limited as it requires a degree of facial skin laxity to recruit skin.…”

“…Many affected individuals cite ectropion as one of the most cosmetically displeasing aspects of their disease. There is currently no standard of care for the treatment of ectropion, and while surgical intervention is often attempted, 1-3 results are variable with frequent recurrence of ectropion or unsatisfactory cosmetic outcomes. 4,5 Recognizing that abnormal keratinization likely underlies ectropion, however, it is unsurprising that surgical intervention often fails.…”

“…The current body of literature on surgical management of Harlequin ichthyosis is small and focused largely on limb constriction/ encasement 2,3 or correction of the associated ectropion. [4][5][6] The rarity of this disease makes its manifestations a challenge for any clinician who encounters it. The severe flexion contractures of the fingers, adduction contractures of the thumbs and pseudosyndactyly in this case were corrected using full-thickness skin grafting, with substantial improvement in both function and aesthetics of the hands.…”
