“…The water-energy axis is well elucidated: the production and treatment of water utilizes 4% of total electricity in the average state, with 40 out of 50 states expecting water shortages over the next decade. 1 The current study set out to quantify the amount of water conserved by switching from traditional preoperative soap-based scrub to an alcoholbased, waterless scrub. Flow rate of water was measured from faucets outside operating rooms currently used for soap-based scrubbing; estimates of case numbers for the department and institution were obtained from administrative records.…”

The lack of reporting and large variability in prices for plastic surgery procedures led us to conclude that the statute is not currently a useful tool for plastic surgery patients.…”

“…His accomplishments include describing surgical indications and techniques in various fields of surgery. 1 As it relates to plastic surgery, his surgical expertise in the manipulation of soft tissue and rhinoplasty was unparalleled. Amputation of the nose was a common punishment in ancient India, and Sushruta described more than 15 methods of repairing various subunits of the nasal complex using local tissue based on axial blood supply as well as random pattern flaps.…”
