Chromosome Studies on Three Species of Indian Chrysomelids (Coleoptera)

Abstract

SUMMARY -Of the presently worked out three species of leaf-beetles, Lema coromandeliana and Lema nigrofrontalis carry each 2n = 16, while Oulema astrosuturalis has n = 10. The sex-determining mechanism is of the Xyp -type in both the species of Lema and of the Xy -type in Oulema astrosuturalis.
