Species in the genus Suaeda have few diagnostic characters and substantial morphological plasticity. Hence, regional floras do not provide clear taxonomic information for Suaeda spp. in East Asia. In order to assess the taxonomy of four species in the genus Suaeda (S. australis, S. maritima, S. japonica, and S. heteroptera), cpDNA (rpl32-trnL and trnH-psbA), nDNA (ITS), and MIG-seq analyses were carried out. Genome-wide SNP results indicated three lineages: (1) S. australis in Korea and S. maritima in Japan, (2) S. maritima in Korea and S. heteroptera in China, and (3) S. japionica. In phylogenetic trees and genotype analyses, cpDNA and nDNA results showed discrepancies, while S. japonica and S. maritima in Korea, and S. heteroptera in China shared the same haplotype and ribotype. We suggest that the shared haplotype may be due to chloroplast capture. Based on our results, we assume that S. japonica was formed by homoploid hybrid speciation between the two lineages.

Penghitungan jumlah kromosom dapat dilakukan melalui penyelidikan kromosom dengan pra-perlakuan. Teknik untuk membuat pengaturan kromosom yang tepat untuk menciptakan partisi kromosom yang luas dan dapat dipahami, menjadikannya lebih mudah dalam proses penghitungan kromosom. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama hidroksikuinolin terhadap sampel akar tanaman cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens). Eksplorasi ini mencakup dua kegiatan yaitu perencanaan bahan dan pembuatan sampel preparat kromosom akar. Ada dua hal yang terlihat pada susunan kromosom akar cabai rawit, yaitu kemampuan mengisolasi kromosom dan ketajaman pewarnaan kromosom dibandingkan dengan sitoplasma di sekitarnya. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah jumlah kromosom cabai rawit adalah 2n=2x=24, pemeriksaan kromosom akar maristematik pada tanaman cabai rawit dengan memberikan pra-perlakuan dengan hidroksikuinolin selama 4 jam setelah fiksasi dapat menghasilkan pelepasan kromosom yang terbaik dibawah mikroskop lebih jelas dan memudahkan dalam penghitungan jumlah kromosom.

Somatic chromosome numbers were determined for 15 taxa belonging to six genera of Caryophyllaceae in South Korea, Pseudostellaria (three species), Stellaria (three species), Dianthus (one species), Gypsophila (one species), Lychnis (two species) and Silene (five species), and were compared with previously reported chromosome numbers for each genus and species. This is the first report of chromosome numbers for two species, Silene koreana (2n=24), and S. seoulensis (2n= 24). Furthermore, a karyotype analysis of five Silene species indicated that the basic number were all x=12, with the following karyotypic formulas: S. aprica var. oldhamiana (2n=4x=48=48m), S. jenisseensis (2n=2x=24=20m+4sm), S. koreana (2n=2x=24=16m+8sm), S. seoulensis [2n=2x=24+ I=20m (4sat)+4sm], and S. takesimensis [2n=2x=24=20m+4sm (1sat)]. These were the first karyotype analyses for the examined taxa, except S. aprica var. oldhamiana. S. seoulensis had the most asymmetrical karyotype among these species.
