Chromosome aberrations in pressure-induced triploid Atlantic salmon

Abstract: Background: Triploid organisms have three sets of chromosomes. In Atlantic salmon, hydrostatic pressure treatment of newly fertilized eggs has been extensively used to produce triploids which are functionally sterile due to their unpaired chromosomes.
