Abstract:Background: A new stability indicating RP-HPLC based assay method was developed to quantify ivermectin and praziquantel simultaneously and applied effectively to tablets. Methods: The simultaneous assay of ivermectin and praziquantel by RP-HPLC was done using an YMC C18 (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 µm) column with a mobile phase mixture of 0.1M disodium hydrogen phosphate (pH 4.5) and acetonitrile (55:45, v/v) using a isocratic flow rate of 1.0 ml/min and measured at 242 nm using photodiode array detector. “…This proposed method for the determination of IVM was carried out in a shorter time than the previous chromatographic and electrochemical methods and at an affordable cost without any synthesis or pre-separation process [ 15 , 23 , 27 , 34 ].…”

In this study, the surface of the glassy carbon electrode was modified with glutardialdehyde. The modified glassy carbon electrode showed electrocatalytic activity against ivermectin. The glassy carbon electrode modified with glutardialdehyde showed high sensitivity, selectivity, and stability in the determination of ivermectin. The peak current of glutardialdehyde oxidation obtained by differential pulse voltammetry decreased inversely with the ivermectin concentration. Ivermectin inhibited the oxidation reaction of glutardialdehyde and caused a decrease in current. This change made the analysis of ivermectin electrochemically possible. In order to demonstrate the applicability of the developed method in real samples, recovery studies were carried out in tap water and urine. The highest sensitivity (0.45 µA/((µmol·L

was obtained with BRT solution sample.

“…Previous review articles can be attributed to the different approaches of detection of API. [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11] Various methods have been developed to determine the PZQ content in different matrices, including high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), 12,13 liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), 14,15 near infrared spectroscopy (NIS), 16 and capillary electrophoresis (CE). 17 Electrochemical methods are also attractive since they have simpler less expensive instrumentation that can be portable.…”
Two new techniques for analyzing Praziquantel (PZQ), an effective antiparasitic drug used in fresh and saltwater aquariums, were optimized and compared. One method was based on voltammetry and one method...
“…As a result of this growing usage, IVM has been recognized as an emerging contaminant. In response to this scenario, several methods have been developed for IVM determination, including chromatographic, 4–6 capillary electrophoresis, 7 and optical immunobiosensor. 8 However, these methods present noteworthy disadvantages; for instance, chromatography requires specialized expertise for analysis, along with the use of high-cost equipment and large waste generation.…”
The ivermectin (IVM), as a broad-spectrum antiparasitic drug, was widely prescribed to treat COVID-19 during the pandemic, despite lacking proven efficacy in combating this disease.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
