ÖZETChondroid syringoma miks kutanöz tümör olarak adlandırılan benign karakterde bir cilt tümörüdür. Chondroid syringoma klinik olarak yavaş büyüyen, ağrısız, ülsere olmayan, subkutanöz veya intrakutanöz 0,5 ila 3 cm arasında boyutlara sahip nodul şeklinde görülür. Chondroid syringoma genellikle baş boyun bölgesinde orta yaş ve yaşlı erkeklerde görülür. Nadir olarak gövde, sırt, ekstremiteler ve genital organları tutabilir. Chondroid syringoma benign lezyon olmasına rağmen malign ve atipik formlarda rapor edilmiştir. Malign tümörlerin en önemli klinik bulgusu kısa zamanda hızlı büyüyen kitle olmasıdır. Malign chondroid syringoma genellikle genç bayan hastalarda, gövde ve ekstremite lokalizasyonlarında görülür. Malign dönüşüm potansiyelinden dolayı benign chondroid syringomalara total eksizyon tercih edilen tedavi şeklidir. Nadir lezyonlar olmasına rağmen, baş boyun bölgesi başta olmak üzere gövde ve ekstremitelerdeki subkutanöz nodül-lerde chondroid syringoma akla getirilmelidir. Bu çalışma-da, genç bayan hastada ekstremite yerleşimli benign bir chondroid syringoma olgusu sunulmuştur. Chondroid syringoma grows slowly without pain and ulcer and is seen as subcutaneous or intracutaneous in 0.5-3 cm size. Chondroid syringoma is generally seen in middle age and old men in head and neck region. It can rarely trunk, back, extremities and genital organs. Since chondroid syringoma is a benign lesion, it was reported in malign and atypic forms. The most important clinical finding of malign tumours is a rapid growing bulk. Malign chondroid syringoma is generally seen in young female patients in body and extremity localizations. Because of malign transformation, potential, total excision is the preferred treatment in benign chondroid syringomas. Despite being rare lesions, in subcutaneous nodules in body and extremities, particularly in head and neck region, chondroid syringoma should be thought. Chondroid syringoma (CS) is a rare benign adnexal tumor of the skin with a resemblance to pleomorphic adenoma of salivary gland, most commonly involving the head and neck region. In the present literature, reports of the cytologic appearance of CS are scarce as it is rarely encountered by fine needle aspiration (FNA). A 67-year-old woman presented with a 1 year history of a 1 cm subcutaneous nodule in the right axilla. FNA biopsy was performed revealing an epithelial-mesenchymal biphasic neoplasm suggesting CS. Surgical excision confirmed the diagnosis and demonstrated extensive ossification, an extremely rare feature, with only seven reported cases, all located on the head. CS is a rare benign adnexal tumor of the skin, often overlooked due to its unremarkable clinical presentation. FNA is a reliable tool for the diagnosis of CS and helps guide optimal surgical management.

Chondroid syringomas are rare, benign adnexal tumor of the skin arising from the eccrine and apocrine sweat gland with tumor differentiation in the epithelial and mesenchymal tissues. In 1859, Billroth first described chondroid syringomas as a mixed tumor of the skin due to its resemblance to the benign mixed tumor arising from salivary gland. [1,2] They most commonly occur in the head and neck, although they may be also found in the limbs, trunk, axilla, genitalia. The reported incidence is <0.01% of all primary skin tumors. An 80-year-old male patient presented to the surgery clinic with a chief complaint of painless, slow-growing swelling on his right mandible, which gradually developed over the period of 20-25yrs. A single, mobile, firm, nontender, nodular surface with subcutaneous plane mass was located on his mandible, which was 6.5cm in diameter. The mass was surgically excised and sent for the histopathological evaluation. The results of biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of chondroid syringoma and showed no evidence of malignancy. In this article, we present a case of giant chondroid syringoma over right mandible in the light of literature review.
