“…If one of these components is impaired, dyslipidemia may occur and lead to various lipid deposits in tissues, atherosclerosis and/or cardiovascular diseases in humans [1,5,6]. Except for Intermediate-Density Lipoproteins (IDL) [7], all kinds of lipoproteins with overall same molecular characteristics are found in dogs, cats and horses [8] but surprisingly, primary atherosclerotic dyslipidemia are rarely observed in these domestic animals.
