Chlorocholine Perchlorate is an Organic Ferroelectric with Two‐Step Ladder‐like Dielectric, Second Harmonic Generation Effects, and Ferroelectricity

Abstract: The organic salt chlorocholine perchlorate [ClCH 2 CH 2 N-(CH 3 ) 3 •ClO 4 ] (CCP) is found to be a molecular ferroelectric with a high theoretical spontaneous polarization (Ps) value up to 17.09 μC cm À 2 . CCP exhibits two successive order-disorder phase transition at 332 and 365 K with space groups changing from Cc to Cmc2 1 and then P6 3 /mmc, accompanied by unusual two-step ladder-like dielectric, SHG signal with obvious "on/off" contrasts. These findingings provides a further instance of exploring succes… Show more

“…The structural configuration of the host molecule enables it to specifically bind and envelop the guest molecule, resulting in the formation of a stable complex. [7][8] Host molecules play a role of framework or cage and the guest molecules inside are prone to experience an order-disorder phase change under external stimulus. [9][10][11] Crown ether is always a typical host molecule and used to design different phase change materials.…”
