Chiral rings from BINOL dicarboxylic acids and alkane ditin(IV) linkers

Abstract: The fi rst series of building blocks for metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) utilizing the ( S )-2,2 ′ -diethoxy-1,1 ′ -binaphthyl-6,6 ′ -dicarboxylic acid ligand linked with a number of α , ω -bis(chlorodiorganostannyl) alkane spacers and α , ω -bis(dichloroorganostannyl) alkane spacers has been synthesized and characterized. The new compounds have been shown to form monomeric chiral rings with the potential to generate large coordination networks. The potential formation of chiral supramolecular and polymeric ma… Show more

“…Some studies found their wide use as catalysts and stabilizers, and certain derivatives are employed as biocides, as antifouling agents and as wood preservatives (Davies et al, 2008;Seter et al, 2012;Kaur et al, 2013;Dong et al, 2014). In addition, it has been observed that some di-and triorganotin carboxylates show potential as antineoplastic agents (Hadjikakou and Hadjiliadis, 2009;Amir et al, 2014;Carraher and Roner, 2014).…”

“…In recent years, organotin carboxylates have attracted interest because of their versatile molecular structures, such as monomers (Dong et al, 2014), dimers (Liu et al, 2011), tetramers (Ndoye et al, 2013), oligomers, and polymers (Garcia-Zarracino and Hopfl, 2005;Seter et al, 2012). Organotin carboxylates possess a wide range of applications such as biological properties (Kaur et al, 2013;Carraher and Roner, 2014), coatings, and catalysis and serve as additives to polymers (Hadjikakou and Hadjiliadis, 2009;Baul et al, 2012).…”

“…Many researchers have described the preparation and characterization of organotin carboxylates and their activity against tumors, fungi, bacteria and other microorganisms (Shang et al, 2011;Seter et al, 2012;Kaur et al, 2013;Nath et al, 2013Nath et al, , 2014Dong et al, 2014;Wang et al, 2014;Mao et al, 2015).
