Chiral cadmium–amine complexes for stimulating non-linear optical activity and photoluminescence in solids based on aurophilic stacks

Abstract

Cd(ii) complexes with chiral amines play a dual role in materials incorporating aurophilic stacks, first, in breaking the symmetry to generate NLO activity, and second, in governing the Au⋯Au distances to give tunable charge transfer luminescence.
