China's Hebei province agricultural low-carbon performance evaluation based on the GLOBAL-SUP-US-SBM model

Abstract

Over the years, the focus on energy conservation and emission reduction has often overlooked the agricultural sector. Conducting research on this topic would be of great significance for China to achieve its "dual carbon" goals. This article establishes a three-level indicator system for evaluating the net carbon sink performance of agriculture in Hebei Province. Based on the GLOBAL-SUP-US-SBM model, the carbon performance of Hebei agriculture is analyzed. The research results indicate that: 1) The agricultural carbon performance has been improving over time, with the years 2016 and 2019 achieving full efficiency in DMU; 2) The performance data in 2019 shows that only Zhangjiakou City did not achieve full efficiency in DMU, and there is a significant potential for adjusting redundant input factors. It is recommended to use agricultural carbon performance as a guide to adjust agricultural structure, promote the ecological transformation of traditional agriculture, and contribute to carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
