Child Soldiers

Abstract: In several countries around the world, children under the age of 18 years are serving as soldiers in current armed conflicts. They participate in every aspect of the war or conflict from being on the front lines of combat to acting as spies, messengers, or lookouts. Child soldiers use AK‐47s, M‐16s, and grenades because they are easy to use. Orphans and refugees sometimes see that their only hope for survival is by joining a militia.
