Chikungunya virus glycoproteins transform macrophages into productive viral dissemination vessels

Abstract: Despite their role as innate sentinels, macrophages are cellular reservoirs for chikungunya virus (CHIKV), a highly pathogenic arthropod-borne alphavirus that has caused unprecedented epidemics worldwide.
