Abstract:Chemogenetic tools are genetically encoded systems regulated by user‐defined chemicals. Their ability to temporally modulate protein functions in specific cell populations has facilitated in‐depth understanding of dynamic biological systems. Many chemogenetic domains have been developed for regulating a wide range of biological processes, ranging from cellular events to animal behaviors. These tools share some common mechanisms, including proximity regulation, conformational change and allosteric control, as w… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
