1 The present review covers the period from September, 1949 to December, 1951 The sections on the posterior lobe hormones and insulin were written by the junior author.3 Some of the topics omitted from our discussion have been the subject of recent reviews elsewhere; namely, relaxin (1), thyroxine and thyroglobulin (2, 3, 3a), and the gastrointestinal hormones (4).
