Abstract:Rearrangements O 0140α-Arylation of Cyclic Amines by Aryl Transfer in Lithiated Ureas. -In the presence of LDA or sBuLi, N'-aryl urea derivatives generated form carbocyclic and heterocyclic amines containing benzylic nitrogen atoms undergo aryl migration to give α-arylated products like (V), (VIII), and (X). These compounds smoothly undergo urea cleavage which allows successful formation of α-arylated amines such as (VI). -(BACH, R.; CLAYDEN*, J.; HENNECKE, U.; Synlett 2009, 3, 421-424; Sch. Chem., Univ.
