Abstract: Bromierung von o‐Xylol (I) mit Brom in Gegenwart von Wasser liefert das 4‐Brom‐o‐xylol (II) in einer Ausbeute von 95% mit nur 2% an den Nebenprodukten (III) und (IV), wenn die Reaktion in zwei Stadien bei 30 und bei 50° durchgeführt wird.
