Abstract

Unexpectedanti-Markovnikov Addition to 1-Methoxy-1,3cyclohexadiene.-Title compound (I) reacts in methanol with catalytic amounts of p-toluenesulfonic acid to generate dimethyl ketal (III) as major compound, isolated by gas chromatography and identified by 1-and 2-dimensional NMR spectroscopy.
