ChemInform Abstract: Two Diammonium Copper Azides with Similar Layerlike Magnetic Substructures Made of Chains of Serially Connected Cu6 Rings Show Cation‐Modulated Magnetism.

Abstract: Rings Show Cation-Modulated Magnetism. -The new compounds (III) crystallize in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 1 (IIIa) and Z = 2 (IIIb). Both compounds possess condensed Cu-azido layers made of [Cu6(N3 ]n anionic chains, separated by the diammonium cations. The molecular geometry results in ferromagnetic interactions within the Cu-azide layer in both compounds.
