Abstract

The Thermal Decomposition of an Organometallic Precursor for the Preparation of YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−x .-The formation of superconducting YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7−x thin films by a wet chemical route starting from the acetylacetonates of Y, Ba, and Cu, and subsequent pyrolysis of the resulting light blue solid precursor, is studied by coupling TGA with FTIR spectroscopy and by XRD methods. All measurements are performed both under inert and oxidizing atmospheres. The combined use of dynamic and static characterization techniques which allows both continuous temp.-dependent examination and detection and determination of intermediate products, enables the optimization of the wet chemical process. -(BINDER, J.
