Abstract

Hydrated FeCl2 , freshly prepared by dissolution of Fe powder in deoxygenated HCl at about 80°C, increased heating (100°C) and taking the solution almost to dryness, reacted with 2,2′‐bipyridine in absolute EtOH (60°C, 10min).
