ChemInform Abstract: The Polymorphism of In2Se3

Abstract

ChemInform Abstract is reinvestigated by high-temp. XRD. The modification stable at room temp., γ-In2Se3 (hP30), transforms at 960 K to the more dense β-In2Se3(H), which changes to δ-In2Se3 (hP5) above 1080 K. On cooling the high-temp. polymorphs to room temp., γ-In2Se3 is not obtained but metastable variants of β-In2Se3 (α-In2Se3(H) and α-In2Se3(R)), which transform on heating via the metastable variants β'-In2Se3 (hP15) and β-In2Se3(R) (hR5) into the stable γ-In2Se3.
