ChemInform Abstract: Tetramethylammonium Glycinate: A New Reagent for Improved Pyrrole Synthesis by (3 + 2)Cyclization.

Abstract: Tetramethylammonium Glycinate: A New Reagent for Improved Pyrrole Synthesis by (3 + 2)Cyclization.-The 5-tert-butyl-4,5,6,7tetrahydroindole (V) is prepared from 4-tert-butyl-2-formylcyclohexanone (I) and tetramethylammonium glycinate (II) by (3 + 2)cyclization. If lithium, potassium, or thallium glycinate are employed instead of (II) or the enamine (VII) instead of (I) or if triethylamine is used as the base in the cyclization step, lower yields are obtained. -(ANSARI, M.
