Abstract

Ternary Arsenides Zr(Si x As 1-x )As with PbCl 2 -Type (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.4) and PbFCl-Type (x = 0.6) Structures. -The title compounds are prepared from the elements (900°C, 5 d) and characterized by single crystal XRD, XPS, electrical resistivity measurements, and by TB-LMTO band structure calculations. Zr(Si0.39As0.61)As crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with Z = 4 (PbCl2-type structure), and Zr(Si 0.57 As 0.43 )As in the tetragonal space group P4/nmm with Z = 2 (PbFCl-type structure). -(GAULTOIS, M.
