Abstract:Synthesis of Soluble Polypyrrole of the Doped State in OrganicSolvents.-Polymerization of pyrrole by using dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA) as dopant and (NH4)2S2O8 as oxidant affords a polypyrrole (PP) soluble in m-cresol and conditionally soluble in CHCl3, CH2Cl2, and CHCl2CHCl2 on addition of DBSA. Soluble PP shows the same spectra of FT-Raman scattering and UV-VIS light absorption as those of electrochemically polymerized PP. The intrinsic viscosity of soluble PP in m-cresol is 0. 17 dl/g. The solution o… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
