Abstract: The dienone (IV), which is synthesized by an improved procedure using the Pmb protecting group, is transformed to the (‐)‐epi‐galanthamine derivative (V) (space group P21/c with Z=4) and to the galanthamine derivative (VI) (space group P212121 with Z=4).
