ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Thermal Properties of cis‐Pd(NH3)2Br2.

Abstract: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Thermal Properties of cis-Pd(NH 3 ) 2 Br 2 .-The title complex is obtained by substitution of the oxalate group in [Pd(NH 3 ) 2 (C 2 O 4 )] by bromine. This electro-neutral planar complex possesses a molecular-type crystal structure (space group Pbca, Z=8) and has a slightly distorted regular trapeze form. A cis-trans isomerization is observed at 130 • C. -(BLOKHIN, A. I.; SOLOV'EV, L. A.; BLOKHINA, M. L.; YAKIMOV, I. S.; KIRIK, S. D. ; Zh. Neorg. Khim. 43 (1998) 2, 258-262; … Show more

“…[16][17][18][19][20] The mechanism for the reaction between palladium(II) and maleic acid, resulting in formation of a palladium(II) olefin complex, has been studied in some detail. 18 Properties and crystal structures of [21][22][23] as well as those for [Pd(NH 3 ) 4 ][Pd(ox) 2 ]. 24 The structural motif with oxalate acting as a bidentate chelating ligand is retained also in the mixed ternary species K 2 [Pt(ox)Cl 2 ]•H 2 O and in the platinum(IV) compound Na 2 [trans-Pt(OH) 2 (ox) 2 ]•6H 2 O.…”
