156ChemInform Abstract The title compounds (V) and (VIII) are prepared starting from the iminodithiocarbonic acid derivatives (I). The preparation of the intermediates (III) is not described in detail and no yields are given. However, their conversion to the target compounds is described in detail. Some further but less effective pathways leading to the formation of (V) and (VIII) are additionally given. (V) and (VIII) are closely related to cyclamide (IX), a compound which is known to lower the blood sugar level. However, tests reveal that the title compounds are inactive.
