ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis and Electric Conductivity of a Solid Electrolyte of the NASICON Type.

Abstract: ChemInform Abstract The title compound (V) is prepared by heating stoichiometric mixtures of the components (I)-(IV) to 1230 rc C. Phosphates of Na and Zr are found to be intermediates. The formation of NASICON starts at about 1000 rc C. It is only at this temp. that SiO2 takes part in the reaction after its transformation from the amorphous state to a mixture of tridymite and α-cristobalite. The single-phase title compound has a conductivity of 0.14 S/cm at 300 rc C and 0.00028 S/cm at 25 rc C.
