Abstract

Synthesis and Bioactivity of β-Lactamase Inhibitory Iodopenicillanic Acid Derivatives.-The methyl esters of (II) and (III) are tested as β-lactamase inhibitors against a variety of isolated β-lactamases; they inhibit at various concentrations. The sulfoxide stereochemistry of the methyl ester of the (R)-oxide (III) is determined from 1 H and 13 C NMR data. -(PETRIKOVICS, I.; JASZBERENYI, J.
