Abstract: Durch Verschmelzen der o‐Phenylendiamine (I) mit 2‐Brompyridin (II) und Zinkchlorid im Rohr bei 200°C (4 Stdn.) erhält man die Verbindungen (III), die mit Acetylchlorid zu den 2‐Methylbenzimidazolderivaten (IV) cyclisieren.
